Biography
David A. Lewis is a lifetime resident of South Florida, born and raised in the coastal city of Stuart. David has always known he was going to pursue career in law. His father is an attorney, as well as his two older brothers so it runs in the family.
David graduated from the University of Florida where he majored in Sociology, while also becoming defensive captain of the University's lacrosse team. David then attended law school at Florida International University in Miami, Florida where he earned his Juris Doctor in 2014.
Prior to joining Block & Scarpa, David worked at the 19th Judicial Circuit Public Defender's office in Fort Pierce, Florida as a felony trial attorney. During his six and a half years as an Assistant Public Defender he gained valuable trial court experience, and represented clients with charges ranging from simple misdemeanors to punishable-by-life felonies. After leaving the Public Defender's Office, David spent two and a half years working for a private firm handling residential and commercial real estate matters, including real estate purchases and sales, commercial and residential contract and lease drafting, title insurance, and some civil litigation.
David's primary focus at Block & Scarpa is in residential and commercial real estate transactions, and land use and development.
